Golden Globes 2012

Charlize Theron in Christian Dior

I know I am a bit late with the announce about this year’s Golden Globes but surely I couldn’t miss it. Overall, I am very pleased with what I saw – very classy, very chic dresses and nothing over the top, which happens too often on the red carpet. I have several favorites, although it was quite difficult to chose. One of them is definitely Charlize Theron with that beautiful Dior gown. Amazing color, it fits her perfectly, very elegant and in the same time it reminds of something pure, fresh and young. 10 out of 10!

Freida Pinto in Prada

Another star that caught my eye was Freida Pinto and her Prada dress. What I like about it, is that it is unusual. The color is beautiful and the texture is quite unique, it reminds of paper in a way. In general it is very simple and stylish, but different and chic.

Julie Bowen in Reem Acra

I was surprised when I didn’t find Julie Bowen within this year’s Golden Globes fashion favorites. Nevertheless, I will include her Reem Acra dress in my list. I think it is very feminine, the nude pink color suites her very well and the sparkling shoulders are a great accessory to her figure.

Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka

I believe Helen Mirren looks astonishing. The Badgley Mischka dress is fantastic – the dark blue is so much better than the usual black and the petals on the gown are executed beautifully. I also want to mention that the belt and the clutch match perfectly and make an important, inseparable part from the whole look.

Kate Winslet in Jenny Packham

I love that Kate Winslet look. It is simple, classic and in the same time elegant. I like how it defines her feminine figure and I agree with the choice of black top, white skirt – the reverse would be safe and also boring.

Heidi Klum in Calvin Klein

I added Heidi Klum here because I think she looks very sweet and “clean”. The Calvin Klein dress is not impressive but it can be a great asset when a woman wants to have the attention only on her beauty. The accessories are selected very well – I like the combination of the turquoise and the nude color.

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace

OK, I must say that Angelina Jolie is in my list by default :). The dress is beautifully executed, but I have an issue with the colors. I do not agree on the red “collar”, in my opinion it is a bit kitsch, I don’t really know how to explain it. If it was me, I would make it black, or with sapphire or emerald color, if the aim is to have strong note as an add to the light dress.

Zooey Deschanel in Prada

Zooey‘s Prada dress is very interesting to me and I included it, because it is not common to find such in this type of events. What I like about it is the top part, with the beautifully sewed in stones. I am sure it is a piece of art at a close look.

Paula Patton in Monique Lhuillier

Paula is amazing. She is very charming and I love this yellow dress on her. The model is very retro and I think it is perfect for the occasion. I am not sure about the clutch, though.

Giuliana Rancic in Basil Soda

And finally, Giuliana. I just think the dress is beautiful 🙂
